I read in “Inches and Pounds” that most people weren’t very hungry and they were surprised how little they actually ate, but I thought I wasn’t one of those people. The past three days I was “hungry” even after just eating. Last night things changed.
I still wasn’t feeling very well and wasn’t hungry at all. My provider said that I could skip dinner and just eat an apple so that’s what I did. This morning I got up and had an orange. I couldn’t even finish it!! I was like “wow!”
I had to go to Wal-Mart to get some more veggies (since I only keep a week’s supply) and did great just getting what I needed. It was tough walking through the bakery area, smelling the bread and looking at the sweets, but I walked FAST LOL
For lunch I boiled a bag of spinach and grilled some pork. The first time I had this I ate almost the whole bag of spinach and felt ok, but today I couldn’t even closely finish the bag! This is so awesome!
For dinner I plan to try cabbage. I never use to like it till I started eating it in Chinese. Now, I know I won’t be frying it but I am willing to try new things.
I also have been hearing that some people who went on this shot gained it all back, but I have a theory for that too. The first 3 weeks after you finish the injections you are on a “maintenance period” where you don’t eat starches or sugars and only add another 1000 calories to your diet. Afterwards Dr. Simeons recommends that you stay away from starches and sugars as much as possible, just have them moderately.
The way I see this diet, and recommend others to view it, is a new beginning. The reason I am overweight is because of how and what I was eating in the first place, right? I have tried in the past to change my eating habits, but have not been very successful. I see this as my jump start to success-I am not just doing it to lose weight but to change my eating habits so I can be healthier.
Here’s to a healthier me!
